Serving Plano and Nearby DFW
In Plano, a weekend estate sale is one route. A private purchase or auction keeps strangers out of the house and still puts the best pieces in front of serious buyers.
A public sale means pricing every teacup, staffing the front door, and letting strangers walk through the bedrooms for two or three days. Some families want that. Plenty do not, especially while a parent's jewelry and papers are still in the house.
We offer the other way. We look at the whole estate, set aside what the family keeps, and make one offer for the rest. Pieces that deserve competitive bidding, a diamond solitaire or a mid-century credenza from a known maker, go to private auction instead. No sign goes up in the yard.
Three questions that settle the route
If any answer is hard, a purchase or private auction suits you better than a public event.
- Who will be at the house for setup, the sale days and the leftovers?
- How far away do the heirs live, and how many trips would a sale take?
- Is a listing, a move or a closing waiting on an empty house?
Write down what you know before we visit
A short list of the rooms, photos of anything unusual, and a note of what relatives have claimed. That is plenty. We fill in the rest during the walkthrough and put scope and exclusions in writing, so any proposal you compare describes the same estate.
How the private route runs
We walk the estate with the family, or for the family if everyone lives out of state, a second property or storage unit included. You get a written offer and an auction plan side by side. Once you choose, our crew packs and removes the pieces on a date you set. The neighbors see a truck, not a line at the door.
If you still choose a public sale
Plano keeps a public page for garage and estate sales that carries a listing of current sales and a route to host one. Do not assume the household-sale page covers a professionally managed event. A homeowners association covering the property may add its own conditions on top.
This site offers general process information, not legal or tax advice. For questions about authority, title, or taxes, consult a qualified attorney or advisor.
Where estate liquidation Plano fits the wider picture is something we cover in our estate services for households across Dallas–Fort Worth.

Common questions
Count your own days at the house, the staffing and the leftovers, then compare. A fee you avoid is not money saved if three weekends disappear into it.
Settle that before anything starts. With a purchase from us, the written scope says what leaves and what stays, and our final cleanout takes the remainder when the family wants it gone.
Yes, and many estates go that way. The split falls around pieces whose buyers are specialists: signed jewelry, good watches, fine art and collections.
